Weirdest of DREAMS! Naweiweirduhan ako!

Before I forget my last night's dream... I'm starting to write it down...

I had a dream last night, with the scene of my house... but the residents aren't my family members, but classmates of mine back in college. My home suddenly turned into a boarding house... the weirdest part was there were 14 girls and only 4 boys... and among those 14 girls... yep you guessed it right, my ex-girlfriend... Analyn Perez was there (I just don't know why she was there, can't control my sub-consciousness).

The scene wasn't like any I had before... 3 of my classmates including Analyn were seated in front of me at the dining table (but weren't having lunch, dinner or anything at all). The girls were discussing something. While I was sitting on the opposite end doing some cartooning, character sketches and paperwork... quite the busy person I was. Anyhow, you-know-who started to pester me like repeating the words, "Pansinin mo ko..." and, "Hindi mo matatapos yan..." and also several sentences that I couldn't recall.

A few minutes later someone doorbelled... As the head of the house I answered it immediately but upon unlocking the door I asked who was it...

A petite girl's voice answered, "Kami Richu"

What the?! Sino yun?! I woke up after I heard her name... then after that I had several other dreams... but not as weird as this one.

Sino si Kami Richu?! I searched wikipedia just a few minutes ago and found Tomb of Emperor RICHU, Kami-Ishidu MISANZAI...

No image aside from an aerial photo of the tomb. The tomb looks like a keyhole... and what does it mean? Weird talaga! Napaka-WEIRD!!!

Project MP5k seriously... AGAIN?!

Ehehehe... true true... its that Mp5k again... but don't fret this is final

This will be the last I'll be modeling this gun, and this will be my basis for my airsoft gun project, The MP5k Fallschirmjäger...

I'm moving to a different project in 3D so don't worry.

... at ngayung Huwebes...

Nakalipas na ang isang araw, isang gabi. May nagbago ba?

Kahapon... nung Ash Wednesday...

Haaay~ buhay... medyo madrama ba?

Sabagay sabi nga ng marami na sa huli ang pagsisisi... ngayun ko lang talaga nailabas ang aking saloobin... sana nga ako'y magbago... magkaroon ng tiwala sa sarili, at sa aking Diyos.

A week has passed... but with a pocket full of stories

It's February 24, 2009 and it has been a week since I last gave an update on what has happened to my life... and everything else aside from that.

Last week Friday (Feb20), I starred as a talent as army soldiers with several others from CCAG for the soap-opera, Tayong Dalawa hosted by ABS-CBN Channel 2... the set was inside Camp Capinpin, home of the 2nd Division of the Philippine Army: The Jungle Fighters.

The experience was good... yet also bad in some ways or another. I'll give the details along the way...

Anyhow we we're only eight (Roms, Iko, Galbo, Edmund, Chris X, Bert, Mangyan and me) who confirmed to play the part as specical operations soldiers to join Gerard Anderson and Alex Anselmuccio's squad in extracting a pilot and a missionary held hostage by the NPA.

NPA? Of all reasons why is the NPA holding a missionary hostage? They wouldn't even do such a thing... maybe the Abu-Sayaff will... but no not the NPA. This is one of the bad parts... the script has a lot of holes, the reason is not only the fault of the scriptwriter and the director but as well as the Military Advisor.

The camp being situated in Tanay... the Military Advisor would definitely put in NPA than Abu-Sayaff... since jungles can be inhabited by the NPAs. But it was definitely a mistake to brand them hostage-takers of missionaries.

Anyhow back to my story... we arrived at Camp Capinpin at around 9am with the tech director's son, Danrey and the Aussie named, Sir Tony... who'll be playing the part of the pilot held hostage.

Anyhow to cut 5 minutes of your time reading this... we were there for 24 hours... yep 24 hours... for a fee of 1.3k php. The good part is the meals we get to eat for free (or I think its deducted from the real amount we're supposed to get... possibly 1.8k? minus 1.3k so thats 500 pesos worth of food), the bonding with the actors, specially Sir Alex Anselmuccio... whose only 17... but looks 24. hahaha... anyway he'll be joining us around June for a game of Airsoft at G9. Another good thing is the experience as real soldiers in the Phil Army. And that chats we had the soldiers destined there.

Ok to round the bad parts... the times wasted waiting for your scenes to come-up... another one is the missionary extraction scene and where the NPA took a missionary as hostage... which is a false accusition. The Abu-Sayaff is perfect for this role though. Another bad part.... is the coffee... you need mugs, as in mugs that can stand hot water. We didn't haz any coffee for the whole 24 hours. The biggest problem of all... short notices. This talent role was given to us by short-notice. Would be best if they stated it a week ago so everyone is prepared and there's an abundance in numbers to play these roles.

Anyhow... we came home the following day (Feb21), all except Galbo who had to stay because of the prosthetics he had for the next scene where he had to appear as a zombie or a soldier badly injured from the explosion of an M203 shell. Well he'll be receiving double pay anyways.

That's another problem... there's no definite date on when we'll receive our TF.

When I got home I was damned tired had to take a doze-off... while everybody else went straight to G9. For the regular weekend warrior's game.

---

Anyways a few days later I think that was yesterday... Sir Roms called me by cellphone... and requested once again for us to participate... the problem is... it was short-noticed AGAIN! Well its good that we didn't get to go... it was a NO GO... because of our numbers... a short notice request won't get you to anywhere.

I don't know what to answer the next time he calls...

---

Anyway, I decided to start writing again... Sir Red Horse (Horace Kapunan, the bald general of CCAG... the one who pushed me to playing the game again), told me that there are plans within CCAG to make a short film... an indie film. That made me start writing stories again, damn was I inspired.

its just a trial anyways, you can check the first parts @ The Ground 9: War Journal of an Infantry Corporal

--

In reality... I've applied to all the companies I needed to yesterday... all associated with 3d animation and Photography... graphic design would definitely be a no-go for me, since "binabarat ang mga graphic designers sa pinas". I'll just wait for their calls/emails... If there's no reply... I'll try again after a week. Global Recession's a pain in the neck~

Time to Apply again...

The calls or emails from TOEI, IAS, and probably Enising haven't reached me for already two weeks... I'll have to consider them as failed applications and start all over again; applying to different companies...

I still have to wait for SOMNIcreative and Lucid Multimedia's calls though...

Awww crap, my savings and funds from a few months ago are depleting fast, I need to get a new source of income and I mean I need a stable job. If I don't I won't be able to catch-up.

Possibly another thing, If my applications to 3D companies go to an abrupt stop... I'll continue applying for those jobs related to graphic arts, fashion and/or photography.

---edit---

I had a discussion with my father just now... and again another scolding, "FIND A JOB". Mom suddenly discussed with us that the market is down, and jobs going to be a hard find. Dad suddenly mentioned SYKES looking for a graphic artist, and they need it badly. Thats my next stop for sure.

Sudden Realization...

I had a sudden realization... its about those stories I've typed before...

I had a sudden itch to try writing stories again... this time to combine it with my daily experiences with some war stories... it somehow reminds me of the first story I made though, the one entitled, "Eternal Epic"... really brings back memories.

I'll be creating a new blog, with a theme of a war journal of a certain Platoon. It would be a great stress reliever for me, and I'm sure of it.

Last Saturday's games @ G9 and bonding with my Bestfriend

February 14 was no exception for our daily airsoft games at G9 (Ground 9) with the people from CCAG and of course some visitors from SOE, SOAR and Talahib.

Sadly there are no photos for me to post, because of me being stupid and leaving my digicam inside Sir Horace's trunk. Quite stupid of me noh?

Anyhow I went solo flight compared to the typical going-to and coming-back with my father to and from the site. Carrying a mountain pack to store my equipment inside and an "agaw-pansin" gunbag. Which gave people sudden stares at me, transporting something that could get me killed... good thing I brought the papers for transportation and the airsoft gun's license with me.

Anyways I spent the whole day with the peeps from G9 playing airsoft. Krissy came late to the site, and of course without her gun as always... ever since her ex-bf took her Joaquin (a CYMA AK74 Krinkov). She was itching to play the game, but was more itching to take shots of the game... luckily Sir Lafuk was there and let Krissy borrow his d40.

At the end of the day... I rode inside Sir Horace's car together with Krissy, dropping us by T.Sora ave.

Krissy and I celebrated valentine's together.... woops... we celebrated Happy Single's Day at home with a cup of coffee and some tupig to match it with. For those who aren't familiar with Krissy, she was my first girlfriend... and eventually is my bestfriend from wayback Elementary days. We keep contact regularly... not until her Ex-BF seculded themselves from people and friends... I haven't had contact with her during the months of November till this February first week... long noh? Anyways I'm glad I get to see her again nowadays... and have our regular chats over Coffee.

Alternative Class: Photography... the aftermath and more

Ohkay~ this is a late post, should've replied last saturday.

T'was glad I was given a chance to teach the College of Education students, Basic Photography and Techniques in Outdoor Photography last Thursday (February 12, 2009) . From all the students I had ever since last year, these were the ones who were really eager to learn... maybe its because they were deprived from learning or the subject wasn't part of their curriculum.

It was actually hard at first, since I'm used to teaching outside the classroom... and always loved doing a hands-on class. Even had to ask the Student Council permission to do an outdoor-class. Well asking permission made everything great.

Both my Morning and Before Lunch classes had a great time...

It's already 4 days after teaching those youngsters... and good lord... they're already adding me on their multiply. Some of them still asking me for guidance and help on their work and how to work on their cameras. But I'm glad they do.

Nothing beats teaching the next generation.

Discussing with the students of my 2nd Class

My students from the Morning Class (1st Class)

My students from the Before Lunch Class (2nd class)

Anyways... I'll be coming to UST this thursday... might be getting my "paycheck" from the SC... and also will be there to support an underclassman of mine on her thesis presentation... a Promise is a Promise of course.

Photography Workshop? me?

A few nights ago my cousin asked me to teach students from the UST College of Education. I thought it was fer real, that I would teach for a whole sem... but sadly it's a false alarm.

I'll be teaching basic photography for 2 hours in three sessions on thursday. Its more likely a workshop for those interested in taking photography classes, i bet they got curious with all the CFAD students taking their cameras to different spots in UST, because I myself came from the College of Fine Arts and Design. XD

Anyways, as of now I'm rebrowsing my old notes on photography, and I seem to have forgotten the difference aperture and camera shutter speed. >_>

Hope I get to memorize each and every note needed. XD

the 9mm Sniper

Here's what I've been talking about early this morning,
the MP5k 9mm Sub Machine Sniper...
hehehe!

Done preliminary texturing this afternoon, might add this on my portfolio for tomorrow's interview with SOMNICREATIVE.

Somehow with the good result of finishing this one, I'm planning to get another galaxy mp5k and convert it into this little beauty here. My next project surely, even though it look ridiculous.

Progress on the MP5k firearm I was modeling the other day...

Ha! Modeling a firearm was fun, and more likely enjoyable. Maybe because its the sidearm I use during our airsoft skirmishes @ "G9" and "The Nest". Having examined and able to hold the replica of the SMG for real was the best reference I can get my hands on.

And so after finishing the initial stage of modeling the low-poly 1028 triangles on Maya. I was encouraged to do more. And thus I came up with doing 5 variations of set-ups for the MP5k platform... although, 2 of the 5 variations are already considered impossible and stupid... such as the "MP5k 9mm Sniper"

I'll post the rendered image of the modeled 9mm Sniper and its other variations as soon as I get the textures done.

For now here's the Basic Variation with the custom Fixed Stock:

Side View

Without the Double-Mag at 3/4 view, enjoyed tinkering it
and resulted with more triangles than before

My next project would be another firearm after this one... preferably an M14 or a M203 Stand Alone. So till next update~

Interactive Arts... Standby?

I didn't get to go yesterday (Feb 3) due to the pain on my lower back (the same pain I felt years ago, dunno why its acting up again). And was able to go to IAS to present my Curriculum Vitae and my "Awesome-Lookin" DemoCD.

But there was one problem... there was a halt in examinations for the positions in 3D Animation and the like. Interactive Arts Services or IAS is currently, "Interactive Arts Standby"; due to the fact that they haven't gotten their 3D Softwares. My best thought would be that they haven't acquired the licenses of their Autodesk Programs such as Maya 2009 and 3DsMax 2009... and to sum it all up... what about those who applied for the positions way back mid-November last year? Are their exams also on halt?

So currently I'll be waiting for a call from them...

And so that's 3 down (TOEI, Enising, and IAS)...

But still even though I'll be waiting for answers, time is always GOLD. I'll have to apply for other companies... and the next one is on Friday and it will be held @ First Academy's conference room; a job fair hosted by SOMNICREATIVE.

Enising Exam's done... 4 more companies to go~

Just this afternoon I took my preliminary interview and talent exam @ Enising Philippines' office at Chino Roces, Makati. Well I'm glad everything turned out good, I was asked by Rod Munasque to wait for their call in a week or two.

The exam was fun, even enjoyable than the test I took at TOEI a week ago. Maybe because it was freehand drawing. A requirment of Enising that their artists must be able to illustrate characters via freehand. Of course the instruction was to draw an original character in one render pose. I did mine in a semi-bust 3/4 angle pose... illustrating a lonesome jester in my own realistic rendering style... of course light pencil to hard penciling.

I had made a good impression to the supervisor with the exam... also same with my background in character illustrating... and same with my keen understanding of the job applying for.

What really impressed him above all else is the my presentable demo cd with matching CD Cover and Table of Contents.

Thats why I'll be also presenting this style of Demo CD to other companies that I'll be applying to, such as:

- IAS (tomorrow or Wednesday; February 3 or 4, 2008)
- Somnicreative (friday; February 6, 2008 through a joint project with FACA)
- Kuju Manila (next week Tuesday; February 10, 2008)
- Toon City (next week Wednesday; February 11, 2008)
- Affinity Express (a third application? still unsure... it's going to be outsourcing again)
- Ladyluck Digital (but having second thoughts, because of the games they released flopped)

So that's it for tonight... till tomorrow then~

Rushing like there is no tomorrow

Crap, its already 1:28am... and I'm still not finished burning my cds for presentation tomorrow.
What's worse the printer ran out of ink, just when I needed it most to print my cd cover and resume. I'll just have to look for a printshop early in the morning... hope there's one or two open.

The clock is ticking, time is running out... I need some sleep of course.

And of course, to anyone reading, please pray for me to get accepted into a company. thanks~

Avelline's officialy a Vet~

It's official! After the eldest three of the family reached 100 for almost two weeks now, Avelline took the front to graduate from being just "a top" of the Pioneer 100 level and decided it was now time to move on to veteran class last night.

Cadmus congratulating Avelline for her Promotion to Veteran Class

With just a small chunk of Gpoints, I was able to get her a Veteran Scroll for her promotion (it just shows how poor I am, no vis nor gpoints). For her celebration... we didn't get any. I'm just glad that everyone from the Templars supported her promotion, especially the LeCiel and JusticeForce families.

So who's next in line to get Promoted? Cadmus or Danielle? That would be another story...

Kotong Cops? Call Mamang Pulis

Something I found posted along Tandang Sora Ave. corner Quirino Highway, going home from the game at G9 ... funny though why'd you call a Mister Policeman if you're reporting Kotong Cops (under-the-table-transaction police). It be like saving their own skin? It'd be best if you could expose their modus operandi through the media so they won't do it all over again.

Early Morning Preparations @ Ground 9

This makes my 3rd game week at Ground 9, and only the 2nd week as a game correspondent... but... sadly, I was only able to take a few game photos due to a low battery. I should next time note to myself that bringing extra batteries is a must, if you'd like to last the whole day covering a-once-in-a-week battlezone.

Good thing Sir Lafuk was there with his D40he was also subbed by Sir Maralex one way or another. They even had a photo-op with my Esperanza (I'll post that shot when it gets posted at the boards)

But what made me put this post isn't just about the photos. But the improvised BB grenades that Sir Ayie and Raymond were making. I must know the ingredients... I'll try asking and might be able to post how to make it here. Helpful information you know.

Also another one that came to my mind that made me think twice and thrice was the CQB area on the gamesite, which involves a pathway separating the two groups (the offensive and the defense). The Assault will take it from the area separating the Jungle from the CQB and go east towards the pig pen area, of course the Defense got an advantage in where there are only two routes accesible to the area the thin pathway and the one near the bamboos; of course both are harder to pass and can be easily sighted by the Defending group, in which they are standing on higher ground.

Later I'll post a sketch on how they got it well guarded.
